Squash

Looks sweet doesn’t it? It’s much bigger now and on the plot growing fast in the recent hot weather. I’m hoping for a lot of squash this year as I have plenty of recipes I want to try. I’ll tell you if they work nearer the time.;)

Alium

I bought these as bulbs from Wilko. I didn’t think they would come to much as I have bought from them before and they are poor. However, I was pleasantly surprised when these came up and were just what I had hoped for.

Being sceptical that they would actually grow I put too many of them in a pot. So next year I will thin them out and put them in two places.

The reason I put them in a pot was that my slugs are voracious eaters and I only had a short copper band. Now I know they will grow I will find a larger one.

Spiders from Mars

These spiders decided to be born on my recycling bin for some reason. There were hundreds of them on the bin for a week, then they were gone, off to eat insects and spin their webs…………..

I didn’t disturb them, I like spiders, I just wish they would eat slugs and ants…. 😉

Boat

I went to the seaside recently and this boat looked so unloved and alone. I bet it had some stories to tell…………….

Poached Eggs

I do so love these plants. They look so happy to be alive and dance gently in the breeze.

All the insects love them too and they have kept the black fly down on my beans this year.

Plot

The plot looks dry here. Despite some rain lately it is still very dry and the earth is hard. That’s what you get for being on the side of a hill.

Potato

This was from earlier last month. They are now fully grown, but I wont harvest for a while.
