The Beauty of Nature

These look rather like ice cream cones with their snow tops on.

I bought some new containers for growing vegetables. They were reasonably priced and will mean no more bending as I have given up the plot this year as the soil was just to claggy to work properly. As you can see the snow filled them up so I will find out if they are good drainers.

The poor old grass looked like it was drowning during the snow.

I couldn’t help but walk across the pristine snow and leave footprints; it’s what snow is for. 😉

We had snow as you know this past weekend. It is all but gone now, but while it was here it was nice. As a gardener I suppose I should be bothered about it, but at this time of the year it does my garden little harm and forces the slugs to wait.

I had a puncture over Christmas which was a real pain as I found out my car only has a space saver tyre and not a full size replacement.

Fun was had when it turned out the replacement cost ?100! Why can they not make full sized spares, and why do replacements cost so much!

I only drove on the space saver for a day, but wondered why they were no good for longer? I have seen people doing 80 down the motorway on these before.

This last weekend I spent an age digging out a very large boulder from the garden. It was about two feet wide and three feet long and weighed 10kg in the end. It took two of us to get it out of the ground and into the back of the car, the same at the tip.

I wasn?t overly impressed at the tip when told that it had to be put into the skip and not just dumped on the floor in the rubble section. I may be fit, but not to that extent. Eventually I managed to persuade someone to help and it went in.

Unfortunately after digging it out, I found another large slab of concrete another 10cms down. I decided not to bother with that at present as I had had enough of digging and my back hurt.

Pictures next time, but I was so knackered I forgot this time. Sorry.

I?ve been digging again, this time in the front garden. I got down to the about a foot and a half when I found the largest bit of rock. I dug and dug to try and find the edge, but gave up in the end as I just couldn’t find it at all!

What it is I don’t know, maybe I will have another go when I have more time. Still, at least I have turned the soil.

I’ve often wondered what I might take a picture of if I accidentally pressed the button.

Now I know.

I got the plinth in this time too.
