I particularly liked this picture by Mackintosh.

Tate Britain

I decided I needed a trip the other day and so off I went to Tate Britain to see some British masters at work.
Shed of Delight
August 22nd, 2011 — Uncategorised
Now this is what I would call a real shed. It is full of bits and bobs that you could spend an age going through wondering what they are used for.
I like the horseshoe.
Greenhouse
August 20th, 2011 — Uncategorised
This is a greenhouse at the gardens that is literally ?green?.
It looks quite old to be honest and I expect it gets lots of use from different gardeners as the gardens run on volunteers.
Corn Circle
August 18th, 2011 — Uncategorised
This was another way they had made the growing of vegetables an art form. Instead of plain old rows of corn, they had put them in a circle. It was early days, but they should become a real centre piece soon.
A Place Like Home
August 16th, 2011 — Uncategorised
This is a picture of the inside of one of the ?sheds?. It has a really homely feel to it. According to the gardens, this is how they would have been set out in Victorian times. I can imagine why they were so popular all those years ago.
Wigwam
August 14th, 2011 — Uncategorised
I cant quite remember why I wanted to take a picture of this until I remembered that I thought the way they had wound the string around the middle was a good idea to stop mine blowing over in the wind.
It doesn?t always happen, but if we have had a particularly windy summer the bean poles can lean decidedly to one side, so this should help.

Stones
August 10th, 2011 — Uncategorised
I liked these stones along the edge of this border.
In my garden I have just used the plastic edging to stop the grass moving over into the border, but I like the idea that you could make a feature out of the edge.
I seem to have plenty of stones in my garden ? I am forever digging them up ? but have never had an idea of what to do with them other than take them to the tip. I feel a project coming on.
