Comfrey (Bees)

I cant help taking pictures of bees. I hope you don’t mind 😉

It’s just that we don’t see enough of them these days and they might go forever one day.

Bees (part 2)

In keeping with my previous posts on bees, I thought you would like to see what I spotted recently at the plot on the Poached Eggs.

As you can see one of the bees has been really busy pollinating

Greens

Here are my greens – sprouts and cabbage all caged off fro the birds. However, the slugs got one of my cauliflowers 🙁

Still, must be upbeat and try harder to kill them all, ha ha!

Spuds

Here are some of my spuds coming up. They are nowhere near as ready as others, but I did put them in late as I was away on holiday. Still it means I will have potatoes later than most to enjoy.

Slugs

Here is a picture of my slug trap.

I have put an old spud out that I dug up and put pellets round it to attract the little critters.

As you can see it has mainly worked and a lot are dead. Long may it go on.

Alliums

I took a look at my allliums at the weekend and they seem to be doing well, though I am a little disappointed about the large drop-headed variety. They are not as tall as usual and have not opened as well as usual either.

Still mustn’t grumble, they have flowered and the bees like them, so good for that.

Note the spider on some of them – all good creatures are welcome in my garden.
